Max, also known as Max/MSP/Jitter, is a visual programming language where the user creates their own interactive media software. The program has multiple capabilities and one of them is to equip a user to design and build their own synthesizers, samplers, and effects processors as software instruments, or patches, that perform audio signal processing. Instead of writing lines of code, a user can program visually by connecting objects together in a blank canvas to build an instrument.
You can also use Max for audio and video synthesis to interactive media installations and robotics control, or connect hardware devices. Get into algorithmic composition, or design a custom synthesizer. Manipulate samples. Make visual music. The sky’s the limit!
