Fem Synth Lab: Music Production Outside the Box with Shruti Kumar
Sunday November 22, 2020 // 11:00am–1:00pm
Music Production Outside The Box: A Conversation about Re-imagining “What’s Allowed” and What Technology Can Do For Us
This workshop will be a discussion + Q&A on getting “weird” with audio, creating arrangements (musically and spatially) from unlikely sonic ingredients, and unconventional recording spaces. More specifically we will dig into creative uses of plugins, and how much mileage we can get out of our audio–building a fully arranged track using only the audio from one vocal pass of a melody.
This event prioritizes all marginalized genders, including but not limited to trans women, cis women, trans men, non-binary, intersex, gender nonconforming, two-spirit and questioning folx. We ask that our cis male allies and friends respectfully do not sign up, as we recognize that electronic music is overwhelmingly dominated by cis men.
